The Benefits of Social Media Comments to L2 Listening Comprehension

چکیده

The purpose of this study is to determine whether a rich repertoire meaningful, relevant comments posted on social media sites can facilitate or increase L2 listeners’ comprehension videos. utilized quasi-experimental design with an experimental group ( n = 29) that watched two YouTube videos and read comments, as well control 31) the same without comments. After watching each video, students in both groups wrote summaries video content, only responded brief questionnaires assessing their perceptions video’s T-tests revealed written by had significantly more, also more informed accurate, unit ideas. Results there generally positive attitude toward listening help option. These findings suggest may be useful tool assist enrich Pedagogically, when are selected for teaching learning listening, richness, relevance, meaningfulness should among selection criteria.
